This installation gathers together a collection of works concerning landscape: both human framing of and projection onto it, and the way human movement through space reveals the interconnectedness of objects and ideas in the landscape. These works are set in national parks and tourist sites, and reflect on the various ways human movement is directed and constrained within such environments and the way we construct our views of landscape based on traditions of landscape painting and photography.
'Tourism' 2014. High-definition video and sound, 5:15min loop.
This work focuses on action or gesture, this includes performance but also includes performing stand-ins that play with expectations and even the use of outright trickery. The aim of such artistic gestures is ultimately to implicate the viewer: in the image and in the act of looking.
